Description

The Moulin Rouge Cabaret is the brightest, most colorful, unforgettable attraction in Paris. Here, the celebration and fun never end. It is located on the right bank of the Seine among the Montmarte hills, next to the Place Pigalle. Currently, classical music concerts, colorful shows, and popular musicals take place inside the Moulin Rouge.

History of origin

In 1889, the famous World Exhibition took place in Paris. It served as an impetus for the construction of the symbol of France, its hallmark - the Eiffel Tower. And on the Place Blanche, they decided to build a real cabaret called the Moulin Rouge, translated from French - "red mill." The establishment got built on the site of a simple wooden mill. To distinguish their cabaret from hundreds of other structures, the creators repainted it in bright scarlet. In the evening, the building was illuminated by dozens of multicolored lanterns, so it was simply impossible to pass by. The news of the new entertainment establishment quickly spread all over Paris. At first, the Moulin Rouge gained fame as a depraved hot spot, where long-legged beauties shamelessly showed off their naked bodies while dancing the can-can. Therefore, not everyone dared to cross the threshold of the Moulin Rouge cabaret in Paris, despite the increased curiosity and temptation. Gradually, the Moulin Rouge got regular visitors. After a hard day's work, people were happy to relax and plunge into the atmosphere of celebration, fun, and incendiary dance. With the expressive music, dancers dressed in bright clothes exposed long slender legs by throwing up lush red skirts. They smiled and made eyes at visitors. Acrobatic stunts and cheers accompanied the can-can. Later, the dance was supplemented with new movements from the corps de ballet, which were delighted with female laughter and mischievous squeals. This is how the "French can-can" got born.

The visitors of the Moulin Rouge were completely different people - artists, writers, aristocrats, members of the royal family, and counts. Over time, the fame of the cabaret as a hot spot institution has passed, replaced by a decent attitude. Dancers began to be selected more carefully, gradually honing their skills and abilities. Today, unsurpassed musicals take place inside the walls of the Moulin Rouge, which thousands of fans come to see.
